In order to better understand **how the brain works**, I decided to enroll in the following MOOC: **[Understanding the Brain: The Neurobiology of Everyday Life](https://www.coursera.org/learn/neurobiology)**.

The course is delivered by **Dr. Peggy Mason** from the _Department of Neurobiology of the University of Chicago_. She may not be the best orator ever but she is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the subject! During this course, she explains very difficult subjects in a clear and comprehensible way.

The course is structured in a **10 weeks syllabus**:

1. The Nervous System
2. Neural Communication + Embodied Emotion
3. Neuroanatomy
4. Perception and Vision
5. Hearing
6. The Vestibular Sense & Gaze
7. Voluntary Movements
8. Motor Modulation
9. Homeostasis
10. Abstract Function

This course covers all the necessary topics of neurobiology for a non-professional learner. The material is challenging but extremely interesting.

Very informative and perfectly illustrated (drawings, pictures, microscope slides, and real human body parts), it is really worth the time.
